Marnix Norder - Exective Board Member of NaCSBA

London, 2 november 2021

At the 2021 AGM online meeting of the National Custom and Self Build Association (NaCSBA), Steenvlinder’s co-founder Marnix Norder was appointed executive board member. NaCSBA is a trade body, with the majority of its board members volunteering their time to help promote custom and self-build across the UK.

While a city councilor in The Hague, Marnix initiated a policy and public push for custom and self-build as a response to the crisis post 2008, that led to a large amount of local activity. He set up Steenvlinder with Hans Sparreboom in 2015, helping many more people self-build in the Netherlands and now in the UK, with a focus on clear design codes and plot passports.

Marnix joins a strong organization with impressive results in defining custom and self-build in the UK – lobbying on local and national government levels and pushing for better policies and legislation promoting self-build. With 10 years of experience in self-build, Marnix can contribute to the goals of the NaCSBA with knowledge and experience, especially in the unique method of delivering self-build as a product to the customer, making it accessible to anyone who wants to live in a house designed for themselves.
