At our self-build location Orchard Farm, in Ashford, the first self-build pioneers visited the Open Day we held at a hotel just a 5 minute walk from the site, to explore their possibilities to build their dream home there. The first 18 plots are now available to Early Birds: they can pre-reserve their preferred plot before the public.

The Landscape-led design for our self-build project in Ashford stood out! Orchard Farm Kent has won the 2023 Merit World Landscape Architecture Award. We are extremely proud of this recognition, at such an early stage, of our landscape concept to create a green and authentic self-build community at Orchard Farm. Our self-builders deserve to live and enjoy more green and common spaces once they've built the houses they love.

On the 18th and 19th of April a delegation of self-build professionals from the United Kingdom visited The Netherlands to see, and be inspired by, self-build schemes in Amsterdam and The Hague. Terraced, semi-detached, detached or apartment blocks, all kinds of variations of self-build were shown.

Beginning of February 2023 we submitted a detailed planning application to Ashford Borough Council for the first twenty five plots at Orchard Farm. It is a thick, well constructed document, giving the Council as well as the future self-builder the confidence to start with this first green and active self-build scheme in Kennington, Ashford.

We are pleased to announce our recent 20% investment into Custom Build Homes (CBH), a UK-based Enabler of custom and self-build housing. Our strategic investment will enable us to collaborate more effectively with CBH and accelerate the scaling of custom and self-build in the UK.

Let's meet 4 and 5 February at Build it Live in Maidstone! We'll introduce our self-build project in Ashford, Orchard Farm. Our Orchard Farm team will be at the stand to show you the proposed layout of the plots and how the landscape will look around the plots and across the site.
